“Intergenerational learning – Age-specific opportunities and challenges in participatory processes in the Biosphere Reserve Salzburger Lungau und Kärntner Nockberge”
In the biosphere reserve Salzburger Lungau and Kärnter Nockberge the local population is integrated into the planning of the protected area. Not just there, but also in participatory processes in other regions, it is especially challenging to reach and mobilize teenagers and older ladies. Regarding intergenerational learning both groups could be of particular significance for protected area planning. Therefore, the potentials, but also challenges of their participation should be investigated by group inquiries and interviews with individuals (For instance in schools, meeting places of retirees). In accordance with the biosphere park management the measures for their future participation should be deduced.
